    Business Need / Purpose of Role

    Perform duties required to provide technical support, including interpretation and response of codes and standards to sales and marketing, customer service, quality control, and manufacturing.

    Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities

    Including but not limited to: 

    • Prepare response to customer inquiries involving technical specifications, test and inspection requirements and design criteria, including all technical data and pricing for sales.
    • Develop internal documentation on design, test, and inspection requirements during order entry.
    • Prepare quotations in accordance with customer inquiries.
    • Develop test and inspection schedules; decide disposition of material not in conformance to standards.
    • Provide customer technical assistance on equipment, including mechanical, hydraulic, and process data.
    • Analyze and resolve manufacturing and procurement problems.
    • Develop technical specifications.
    • Develop and maintain technical sales literature.
    • Review suppliers capabilities and quality and make recommendations.
    • Supervise start-up, erection, and trouble shooting at customer site.

    Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience:

    Bachelor's degree with one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    Language Skills:

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

     

    Mathematical:

    Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.  Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

     

    Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

     

    Computer Skills:

    Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Project manager, CAD unigraphics, Team Center.

     

    Physical Demands:

    When performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and talk. The employee may be required to lift over 15 pounds, carry, push, pull or other wise move objects with the use of a hoist. Vision ability include clarity of vision at 20 feet or more as well as 20” or less. Ability to judge distance and space relationship.

     

    Work Environment:

    Normal office conditions; works periodically in manufacturing environment, PPE required.
