Business Need / Purpose of Role

Help manage the processes and procedures for the re-inspection of all products that are submitted to Service Centers. Provide training on the company’s service standards, process, safety standards and procedures for the shop floor. Help develop and maintain training and test curriculum for class room and hands on testing at a local levels throughout the region. Will be responsible for implementing and managing the training of employees. Must be hands on and practice a practical approach to employee training. This will include classroom training, hands on/live practice, testing/evaluation, and auditing to ensure effectiveness of training.

Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities

  • Work within the process team to develop and implement training for
    • Safety Programs
    • Quality Process and Systems
    • Service Center Operation SOPs
  • Incorporate safety and quality focus into all training to improve culture and awareness
  • Studies functional statements to determine responsibilities of workers and work units and to identify areas for improvement
  • Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, relocating work stations and equipment, and purchase of equipment
  • Confers with management and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations for rebuilding flow and pressure pumping products
  • Establishes SOPs and PWIs for rebuilding of flow and pressure pumping products
  • Establishes and maintains Lean practices
  • Coordinates and facilitates lean improvement activities
  • Performs problem solving and root cause analysis techniques
  • Establishes best manufacturing processes and trains key shop personnel in those processes
  • Oversee the regions service technician new hire SOP, Risk assessment, and hands on training
  • Oversee on-going SOP, Risk assessment and hands on training of all service technicians within the Region  
  • Upkeep and manage all service technician training documentation for the region
  • Audit and maintain that the standards and procedures established in the training program are followed and executed within the service centers
  • Ensure all tasks are being performed safely on the shop floor through WEIR Audit system
  • Basic Understanding of SPM Pumps beneficial
  • Experience with treatment and refurb of competitor / other manufacturer's iron

Education and/or Experience                                                

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with Five years’ related experience and/or training in flow iron engineered specifications and related process and procedures of non-destructive testing. ; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree in a technical field is beneficial.


Language Skills                                             

Excellent verbal and communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers. Ability to read and comprehend  instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Bilingual is a plus.


Mathematical Skills                                                   

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


Reasoning Ability                                                      

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to interpret schematic drawings, procedure changes, and work orders. Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Computer Skills:

The incumbent should have knowledge of the following software: Microsoft Office Suite (must be proficient in Excel, and Word). Must have proficient knowledge of how software and computers work and interact with each other. The position requires use of Re-inspection program (AMP).


Other Skills and Abilities                                                      

Must have mechanical aptitude and the ability to drive a company vehicle as needed.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including steel toed safety shoes, ear plugs, and safety glasses, in most areas of the facility. Position could require travel up to 35% of the time.
