Business Need / Purpose of Role

Directs and coordinates activities of production department(s) in processing materials or manufacturing products in industrial organization or repair of products onsite/offsite by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities

Including but not limited to: 

  • Responsible for the safe operation of the entire business by building a culture of safety in all aspects of the operation. Ensure the implementation of the Company EHS Policy for the prevention of injury, damage or loss to Company personnel and resources and ensure that line management are fully aware of their accountability for the environment, health and safety of Company Employees and others who may be affected by Company activities.
  • Employees within their area of control are made aware of the EHS Policy, and the responsibilities contained therein, as well as all relevant health, safety and environment standards and systems of work relevant to their trade and work places.
  • All employees and visitors under their control adhere to these standards and systems of work.
  • Ensures the facility is clean and presentable to customers.  The operations of the site will be used as part of the value proposition to generate input for the facility.
  • Is held accountable for the financial performance of the facility and and all the operational metrics (Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost)
  • Lead the effort to earn an ASME VR stamp to repair safety relief valves then create processes to maintain the approval.
  • Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations 
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays 
  • Minimize the value of stocks and prevent stock depletion and optimize stock levels.
  • Ensure stock obsolescence (declassification, scrapping, stock return to supplier) and take part in the review of requests for proposals, from a deadline standpoint.
  • Prepare the annual budget; perform its quarterly revision and its follow up.
  • Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization 
  • Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards 
  • Management of all employees on a day to day basis ensuring appropriate daily line management and support is provided
  • Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data
  • Manages two supervisors who supervise a total of Approximately 40 employees in the Flow and Pump Departments
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
  • When requested, help with the integration of additional Flow Control product lines for local assembly, testing, painting and servicing.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

Reasoning Ability:         

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
