Business Need / Purpose of Role

Be the focal contact between the factory and the customer for start up and installation of Weir Floway, Inc. products. Determine root cause failure of warranty product and assist with support to the customer base on existing products.

Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities

  • Perform supervisory services for installation and start up of Weir Floway, Inc. to customers/end users
  • Diagnose system or equipment problems
  • Analyze data relative to system or equipment problems and provide technical response
  • Handle call-in inquiries for technical questions: installation, systems, service
  • Communicate and recommend to management information critical to customer service, product performance and suggestions for improvements.
  • Monitor and update all orders scheduled for start-up services.
  • Properly identify each Field Service issue by creating a Field Service Report which identifies the root cause of this issue and promotes training to eliminate reoccurrences.

Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

  • Minimum of seven (7) years experience with rotating equipment. Degree in mechanical engineering or related technical degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
  • Working knowledge of machine design, fluid mechanics, and manufacturing processes is required.
  • Must be self motivated and customer oriented
  • Must have excellent problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand technical specifications

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated. However, the work also requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking over rough, uneven or rocky surfaces, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching or similar activities; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items such as pump parts. The work involves moderate risks or discomforts requiring special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts or machines. Employees may be required to use personal protective equipment such as; masks, gowns, coats, boots, goggles, gloves or shields. The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities such as above-average agility and dexterity.
