    Business Need / Purpose of Role

    This co-op will be full-time hours beginning Jan 2018 – Aug 2018 and will be based out of our Madison, WI facility, which is considered Weir’s North American operations headquarters.

    Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities

    Job Responsibilities:

    Review requests for quotation and provide quotes to the customer that complies with specified requirements. Provide technical information and drawings as requested.


    Review customer purchase orders and technical specifications to identify items that deviate from Weir’s offering.


    Review and define contract requirements for materials and services in order processing databases and work with other departments as needed to complete the order entry process.


    Maintain orders resulting from changes initiated internally or by customer as required.


    Select and/or verify compatibility of various Weir and non-Weir manufactured components (e.g. v-belt drives, gear reducers, electric motors, mechanical seals).


    Assist Project Engineers with creation of manuals.


    Encourage working relationships between departments.


    Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.


    Complete special projects as assigned.


    Comply with all Sales Engineering Department and Company policies, procedures, and programs.


    Promote and maintain a flexible, cooperative, team oriented, and customer focused attitude within and between departments.


    Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.

    Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications


    • Must be working toward a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
    • Ability to effectively work with a team and as an individual
    • Experience with Microsoft Office suite
    • Must be detail oriented and have strong analytical skills
    • Effective communication, organizational, and time management skills
