Business Need / Purpose of Role

The intern will be required to analyze data, complete reports on compensation structures, and match job descriptions to questionnaire requirements in order to complete participation in the industry specific compensation survey. 

Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities

Including but not limited to:

  • Works closely with Division HR VP and HR Director - US Shared Services in planning and completing participation in the compensation survey
  • Interprets and works to compensation survey guidelines
  • Matches jobs on the survey questionnaire to job descriptions
  • Computes average salaries, minimum, or maximum salaries
  • Provides survey response within the specified deadline
  • Run reports from ADP to analyze existing compensation data
  • Performs data entry of survey responses

 Measurement:

  • Participation completed and submitted by deadline

Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

Enrolled with at least a Senior status in a Bachelors Degree program related to Human Resources at an accredited University. Experience in Compensation & Benefits and/or major in the field of Comp & Ben preferred.

                                   

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common mechanical engineering drawings and specification documents.  Ability to write a technical response to questions posed by the supervising engineer.

 

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have computer experience including Microsoft Office, Internet applications.  HR and/or recruiting software is a plus.
