  • Business Need / Purpose of Role

    Responsible for leading continuous improvement and implementation of the NPI process and project management standards. This highly visible leadership position has a goal of contributing to on-time launches of safe, quality product that meets the needs of our customers. This position will include involvement in multiple, concurrent development programs, and will lead direct reports and team members from other internal and external resources to ensure that they maximize value through use of the NPI process and employ best practice project management techniques.

    Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities

    Including but not limited to:

    • Lead a cross functional team to evaluate current NPI process and project management standards, recommend improvements to current state, and implement those recommendations across the pressure pumping organization.
    • Train and coach process owners, champions, and project teams in the use of tools and methodology to ensure timely completion of projects.
    • Develop, maintain, and publish metrics and KPIs related to the performance of the NPI process.
    • Identify gaps in performance against Best in Class NPI processes and project management standards and close said gaps through structured process improvement.
    • Support Project Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Manufacturing during NPI project cycles as the SME for the NPI process to ensure successful project execution and product launch.
    • Manage the NPI project support team consisting of project managers and NPI-focused personnel.
    • Must exhibit strong leadership skills with proven ability to facilitate cross-functional teams.

    Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. S.) with a minimum of five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated experience implementing and leading NPI and project management processes/programs. Deep understanding of NPI tools such as House of Quality, DFMEA, Silver Bullet, TRIZ, etc. Engineering background preferred but not required.


    Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors


    Mathematical: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


    Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


    Computer Skills: Ability to work on MS Office: PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio, Project, Publisher, and Outlook. Additionally, advanced knowledge and aptitude of Solidworks, Solidworks PDM, and Driveworks as well as PDM, SQL, or other relational database competency.


    Physical Demands: The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds
