Compiles information and records to prepare purchase orders for procurement of material by performing the following duties.
Including but not limited to:
Plans, schedules and monitors supply of purchased material and/or components to ensure manufacturing schedules can be met in a timely and efficient manner.
Reviews MRP messages to determine purchase order required on a daily basis and makes delivery and quantity adjustments as needed.
Evaluates schedule changes for impact on customer/manufacturing schedule and inventory.
Expedites orders as necessary. Identifies actual and potential delivery issues and takes proactive steps to inform appropriate personnel and resolve.
Manages and finds resolution to non-conforming product delivered by suppliers
Coordinates Engineering Changes to reduce/mitigate obsolescence.
Supports purchasing of New Product Introductions.
Maintains accuracy of ERP data (leadtime, pricing, minimums, etc.)
Ensures adherence to all product and process documentation.
Identifies process bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
Develops relationships with key suppliers.
Works with suppliers to resolve shortages, discrepancies, quality concerns and performance issues.
Negotiates pricing at the direction of sourcing.
Verifies nomenclature and specifications of purchase requests.
Analyzes cost components of purchased product to determine the factors that impact the price of the product.
Requires critical thinking and strong attention to detail. Ability to multi-task and prioritize.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree with five (5) year related experience, or Associate’s degree with eight (8) plus years’ related experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. CPM or APICS certification desired.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions, managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to negotiate price and delivery with suppliers using internal knowledge and external market factors. Complete understanding of MRP.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have thorough knowledge of Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
