The SHE Specialist is responsible for implementing and supporting the development of short and long range plans and roadmaps for the manufacturing facility and Ft Worth service center and will manage the activities of managers and staff engaged in developing, evaluating, and improving safety performance and systems. The position is also tasked with improving the environmental and sustainability programs. The SHE Specialist will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and support third party standards including ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. Coaching, training, and leading are required to drive high levels of SHE performance through all levels of the organization.
Including but not limited to:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training within Oil & Gas and/or heavy industrial equipment manufacturing and servicing; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The candidate must have a proven track record of implementing change management and have experience with standardization, management systems, consolidation of processes, and be an expert in OHSAS requirements & environmental aspects. The right candidate will have had exposure to an industrial heavy equipment manufacturing and service center environment.
LANGUAGE: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
COMPUTER SKILLS: The incumbent should have knowledge of the following software: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Databases, ERP Processes, Data Collection/Analysis Systems
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, SPECIAL SKILLS: OHSAS or NEBOSH preferred but not necessary
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. In certain areas of the facility personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required, including safety glasses and steel-toed shoes, and ear plugs.
