Business Need / Purpose of Role

The Project Manager/Engineer:

  • Oversees all aspects of sales orders from entry to shipment
  • Provides clear and timely communication to all stakeholders
  • Ensures quality fulfillment of critical aspects of each assigned sales order including profitability, schedule adherence, and client satisfaction



Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities

Items the Project Manager/Engineer is responsible to oversee include but are not limited to:

  • Accurate entry into the MRP system of purchase orders, bills of materials, testing requirements, and other pertinent information per contract documents and client specifications
  • Schedule creation and maintenance including monitoring milestones for required activities such as submittals, release to manufacturing, testing, and shipment
  • Coordination with departments internal to the company, particularly Application and Product Engineering, as well as suppliers and other third parties as necessary
  • Coordination with clients on all order-related issues including schedule, submittal, inspection, testing, documentation, approvals, negotiation & execution of change orders, and shipping

Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications


The successful Project Manager / Engineer must:

  • Demonstrate accuracy, thoroughness, and impeccable attention to detail while successfully managing many concurrent projects
  • Define problems, collect and interpret data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner
  • Communicate clearly and effectively; prepare business correspondence and technical reports of the highest quality
  • Display a working knowledge of pumping equipment, processes, applications, and related specifications & standards
  • Read and understand contracts, specifications, technical drawings, procedures, and manuals
  • Negotiate compromises as necessary while building consensus to meet the needs of multiple stakeholders
  • Approach others in a tactful manner, react well under pressure, treat others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position, accept responsibility for own action, and follow through on commitments.


Experience & Education:


The well-qualified Project Manager / Engineer candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, and/or
  • A PMP certification with relevant experience in a related field, and/or
  • A technical degree with a minimum of three years’ relevant experience
  • Experience with MRP systems, CAD, and MS Project
