The purpose of the role of the Regional Sales Manager - Industrial - West Coast is to maintain superior and motivated representation of the WFC Industrial product portfolio including Valve products, WEMCO, WSP, and Floway in the marketplace through the appointment, training, mentoring, and monitoring of independent representatives an/or distributors in the assigned territory and ensures their organizations have the necessary talent and capabilities to sustain and/or achieve the industrial sales goals of the company.
Provides market intelligence to the sales director on market conditions, trends, and competitors’ activities so effective countermeasures/strategies can be implemented and price points on projects, products and services are established to achieve company margin and profit objectives.
Provides direct involvement with the representative and customers on major projects and problems, and other special projects such as the introduction and monitoring of new products and their start-up.
Education and/or Experience:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
