    Business Need / Purpose of Role

    The purpose of this role is to perform the necessary advanced tests in the R&D facility.  The testing can be anything from new pumps to checking the wear in a flow component.  

    Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities

    Including but not limited to:

    • Prepare plunger pump and other components for testing (Install and remove test components when required; conduct visual inspection)
    • Run test protocol through computer application
    • Monitor pump during test protocol via infrared and digital cameras
    • Evaluate and document pump performance between test phases
    • Recognize and troubleshoot issues during and post testing
    • Analyze blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and drawings to determine fabrication and operating specifications.
    • Perform operational and performance testing per SOP and product specifications.
    • Provide documentation of tests and assemblies.
    • Perform repairs per specified procedures.
    • Verify conformance to specifications.
    • Visually inspect equipment.
    • Install and remove test components when required.
    • Operate pneumatic tools.
    • Safely operate test equipment including, hydraulic presses, pulsating test benches, high and low pressure flow equipment
    • Assemble all components ensuring alignment and fit before bolting, screwing them together.
    • Operate forklift to move materials between work centers.
    • Ensure clean up and safety compliance within the work center.
    • Utilize all required PPE

    • Comply with safety regulations and reinforce safety culture
    • Complete daily assignments on time
    • Keep R&D facility clean and free of hazards
    • Exhibit leadership qualities

     

    Measurements:

    • Safety TIR
    • Completing tasks in allotted time
    • Test bench uptime

    Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with at least 18 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

     

     

    Mathematical Skills Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.  Take measurements using precise measuring devices such as micrometers, ring and bore gauges. 

     

     

    Other Skills Forklift certified, certified welder preferred

     

    Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

    Machine shop environment.  Must be able to wear steel toed safety shoes and safety glasses, and hearing protection. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The use of personal protective equipment is required, including steel toed shoes and safety glasses.
