The Senior Buyer is responsible for timely placement, management and delivery of purchase orders for Weir Seaboard. This includes but not limited to vendor, management of vendor base and expediting in addition to coordination of the procurement and distribution of materials, parts, equipment and supplies for the organization.
Including but not limited to:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four year college or university; five (5) years’ related experience and/or training; preferred in Wellhead industries; or equivalent combination of education and experience or five (5) to seven (7) years related business or purchasing experience with proven record.
Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time to include foreign travel that will require a valid passport.
Must be able to communicate fluently in both English. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divided in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must be able to work independently without supervision.
To perform this job successfully, and individual should have knowledge of
Microsoft office in particular in Excel, purchasing software, and ERP experiences is a plus.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work outside for short periods of time and is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment can be significant, as expected in a heavy industry manufacturing facility. Personal protective equipment is required in certain areas of the facility. While performing duties this job may be exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures.
