    Business Need / Purpose of Role

    Responsible for the development, opportunity identification, exploitation, and management of assigned client accounts.  Some duties include, but are not limited to: all issues pertaining to sales, marketing and operational communications, QHSE targets and requirements, strategic growth plans, customer development, training and direction. Designs and executes Drilling and Wellhead marketing and sales strategic plans for target customers in assigned territory.

    Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities

    Including but not limited to:

    • Promotes Drilling and Wellhead products and services offered
    • Finds and develops customer base, using a relationship strategy based on ERM. Establish and maintain client relationships 
    • Minimizes customer/client “stress” with technical ability and follow up meetings, reports etc.
    • Working with quotations, collects information as required to provide accurate proposals to clients. Prepare and review proposals with Operations input, and Applications Engineering, as required 
    • Compiles customer and competitor intelligence and feeds that into strategic plan 
    • Updates activity forecast to identify equipment and personnel requirements and feeds S&OP
    • Attends technical meetings and shows as required by the business plan
    • Completes and submits accurate and timely expense reports
    • Sets/executes promotional strategies and plans
    • Serves as liaison with other members of the Weir team, to maximize business opportunities for the entire Weir company 
    • Provides input to and completes yearly objectives
    • Develops 30/60/90 day rolling plans for sales
    • Takes ownership and responsibility for all company safety goals and practices as applied to self, ensuring he/she is well versed in company safety policies and processes
    • Confers with customer and representative of associated industries to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in area
    • Develops and sells the value proposition for each of his/her clientele
    • Provides input to the development of product strategy and research and development of new emerging products
    • Provides input to the development of a services process plan, including personnel requirements, material needs, subcontract requirements, facility needs, and tooling and equipment needs
    • Manages contact with clients to ensure a competitive edge on upcoming projects, and meeting of customer needs
    • Sets and execute promotional strategies and plans 
    • Sets strategic direction and execute strategic plan for assigned clients
    • Advises on pricing strategies with the sales team and management
    • Demonstrate commitment to Quality, Health, Safety and Environment 
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree with five years’ experience in Drilling and Wellhead Sales or equivalent combination of education and experience.


    Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations in English and Spanish. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


    Mathematical Skills:
    Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


    Reasoning Ability:
    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Clear, rational and logical thought processes. Capable of drawing engineering conclusions from modeling and analysis activity.


    Computer Skills:
    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of database and inventory software, manufacturing and order processing system, and spreadsheet and word processing software.


    Physical Demands:
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


    Work Environment:
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work outside for short periods of time and is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment can be significant, as expected in a heavy industry manufacturing facility. Personal protective equipment is required in certain areas of the facility. While performing duties this job may be exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures.
