    Business Need / Purpose of Role

    The Maintenance Supervisor coordinates the work of employees who maintain industrial equipment and manufacturing facilities. This individual schedules, assigns and oversees maintenance projects. Maintains records of work performed on company equipment. Purchase parts, maintain inventory and distribute parts effectively. Operates within the guidelines of the annual budget for the maintenance department and assist with vendor negotiations for services. This individual MUST have extensive experience with CNC Machinery.  Responsible for troubleshooting the machines, along with daily maintenance issues.

    Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities

    Including but not limited to: 

    • Supervises and coordinates the activities of the Maintenance staff and outside contractors engaged in maintaining, repairing, and operating the physical plant and all associated equipment in a safe and proper manor and in accordance with SOP’s and departmental policies and procedures
    • Assigns, schedules, and supervises the training and work assignments of all Maintenance technicians under this positions responsibility
    • Prepares and maintains detailed equipment, plant operations, and preventive maintenance records involving all functions of the department. Prepares schedules and reports
    • Requisitions all production equipment, supplies and material necessary to carry out the functions of the department 
    • Plans, schedules, coordinates, and implements the preventive maintenance program for plant equipment, CNC, machinery, and tools 
    • Provides and tracks information used to prepare budgets 
    • Identifies and analyzes operating, maintenance, and repair problems and takes corrective action. Recommends improvements to production equipment, and procedures to increase efficiency and reduce operating costs
    • Proposes information for creating and writing standard operating procedures (SOP’s)
    • Manages the process of evaluating employee performance and makes recommendation to management on promotions, increases, and initiates disciplinary action as may be required
    • Can be assigned to other sites, as needed
    • May participate with teams or committees related to the building/equipment operation
    • May manage special projects, as assigned

    Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

    Education/Experience:

    Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with five years related experience; or a minimum of seven years related experience and/or training.

     

    Language:

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

     

    Mathematical Skills:

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

     

    Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

     

    Computer Skills:

    The incumbent should have knowledge of the following software: Syteline, Human Resource Systems, Inventory, Microsoft Office Suite.

     

    Physical Requirements:

    The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

     

    Work Environment:
    The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. In certain areas of the facility personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required, including safety glasses and steel-toed shoes, and ear plugs. Employee is regularly exposed to outside/extreme weather conditions.
