    Business Need / Purpose of Role

    Responsible for developing marketing communication programs from product launch through retirement of technologies and service lines for Weir Oil and Gas. This role is responsible for developing the positioning strategy and marketing communication program for new product and service launches  through the creation and delivery of public relations, marketing collateral, brochures, promotional items, tradeshows, customer/industry events, and website content.  Additionally, this role is responsible for working with product management to update marketing messages and collateral as enhancements are made. This role will monitor competitor technology launches and work with product management to maintain a competitive edge of Weir’s technologies.

    Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities

    Including but not limited to:

    • Work closely with product management and engineering to manage the lifecycle of products and services for marketing communications
    • Develop product or service positioning and messaging strategies for new offerings
    • Develop marketing launch program for new offerings (with budget) and present for approval to the marketing director
    • Develop and execute the workflow of product and service marketing, advertising or public relations.
    • Creates communications that conform to Weir Group branding standards
    • Leads the project management of brochure design, layout and copy editing requirements
    • Leads the project management of ads and advertising campaigns as they relate to products and services
    • Works with the customer experience strategist to communicate new products and services to customers
    • Acts as custodian of corporate documents and records


    Special Skills:

    • Significant experience in rapid growth technology markets, with emphasis in the oil and gas industry, both domestic and international
    • Experienced in taking a company forward in a fast growth environment, providing insight for direction and managing change effectively
    • Familiarity with the sales and booking process and knowledge of the marketplace for the company’s products and services
    • Experience in the oil and gas industry

    Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience:

    Bachelor’s or master’s degree in marketing communication, business or related filed. At least 5 years of industry experience


    Language Skills:

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management.



    Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


    Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


    Computer Skills:

    The incumbent should have knowledge of the following software: Must possess moderate to high level of computer literacy in Microsoft office products, internet searches and internet navigation.


    Physical Demands:

    The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

    he noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. In certain areas of the facility personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required, including safety glasses and steel-toed shoes, and ear plugs.
