This position develops and produces designs with associated 3D models suitable for production. Creates 3D models and assemblies from sketches, drawings, and other sources. Produces detailed reports of changes to Engineering documents for use in the production of parts and assemblies. Engineer design details to include some forms of analysis whether structural, kinematic, thermal, acoustic, fluid, etc.
Including but not limited to:
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or Technical discipline with a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in an engineering or technical role; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) –fluent in the use of appropriate CAE applications and processes (Solidworks Suite preferred, ANSYS (optional)), required. Prior experience and working knowledge of 3-dimensional modeling and 2-dimensional drawing required.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Specifically, capable of reading and interpreting CAE application guidelines and specifications as well as writing short engineering reports communicating activity and conclusions
Sound mathematical understanding, with fast mental arithmetic capability. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Clear, rational and logical thought processes. Capable of drawing engineering conclusions from modeling and analysis activity.
Fluent use of Office tools – work processor, spreadsheet, presentation, email. Detailed understanding of modern CAE tools. Advanced hands-on skills in 3- and 2-dimensional Computer Aided Design (CAD) through Solidworks and AutoCAD. Optional: Basic skills in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations, Special Skills:
High-level static and dynamic finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics, highly preferred. Advanced computer generated graphics, animation, web design, simulation, video post-production, game development, highly preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work outside for short periods of time and is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment can be significant, as expected in a heavy industry manufacturing facility. Personal protective equipment is required in certain areas of the facility. While performing duties this job may be exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures.
