  • Business Need / Purpose of Role

    • Perform supervisory services for installation and startup of Weir Floway, Inc. products to customers/end users.

    Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities

    • Perform supervisory services for installation and startup of Weir Floway, Inc. products to customers/end users.
    • Diagnose system or equipment problems.
    • Analyze data relative to system or equipment problems and provide technical response.
    • Handle call-in inquiries for technical questions related to installation, start-up, and system integration.
    • Communicate critical information to management and make recommendations for improvements to customer service and product performance.
    • Monitor the status of all scheduled start-ups.
    • Properly identify each Field Service Issue by creating a Field Service Report which identifies the root cause and promotes training to eliminate reoccurrences.
    • Work at a fast pace while prioritizing many important, urgent, and sometimes conflicting assignments.

    Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

    • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working with industrial machinery.  Experience with pumps preferred. 
    • Mechanical engineering degree preferred. A technical degree or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
    • Knowledge of machine design, fluid mechanics, and manufacturing processes is desirable.
    • Must be self-motivated and customer-oriented.
    • Ability to read and understand technical specifications and drawings.
    • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
    • Must have excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills.
    • Skilled in use of Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
    • Good analytical, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
    • Hands-on experience with industrial machinery is desirable.
    • Familiar with engineering drawings and bills of materials.



    Core Competencies

    The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated. However, the work also requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking over rough, uneven or rocky surfaces, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching or similar activities; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items such as pump parts. The work involves moderate risks or discomforts requiring special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts or machines. Employees may be required to use personal protective equipment such as; masks, gowns, coats, boots, goggles, gloves or shields. The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities such as above-average agility and dexterity.
