    Business Need / Purpose of Role

    Provides supervision and guidance to team members in the assembly and testing of various mechanical components.

    Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities

    Including but not limited to:


    • When the manager/supervisor is not present, assigns duties to complete all necessary daily service center work.
    • Oversees service center activities and revises work assignments to meet production schedules and contract priorities.
    • Explains service center procedures, and specifications, and demonstrates use of equipment and testing to new employees.
    • Assists with interpreting schematic drawings, procedure changes, and work orders for workers.
    • Assists workers in resolving technical problems.
    • Confers with technical personnel and managers/supervisors to report and resolve assembly and testing problems, and reports unresolved problems.
    • Obtains and distributes supplies, materials, and equipment such as components and parts used for work, assembly, test and inspection specifications and test equipment, fixtures, and hand tools.
    • Reports substandard equipment performance to supervisor or maintenance personnel.
    • Substitutes for absent workers and assists workers to alleviate work overload situations.
    • Selects equipment and personnel and plans work flow
    • Understand all Customer Contractual Requirement
    • Confers with manager/supervisor and reviews service center schedules.
    • Knowledge of Syteline: Transfer Orders, Receiving Order, Customer Estimates
    • Perform All Duties of Service Technician III:
      • Process incoming iron start to finish.  Able to accept equipment from delivery, recertify equipment, load equipment for delivery, complete all associate paperwork, process SPM certificates, and deliver notes (without supervision)
      • Prepare all reports as per SPM Standards
      • Process All SPM Customer Requirements
      • Perform MPI Testing (MPI Certification Required)
      • Basic Understanding of SPM Pumps
      • Experienced in Other Manufacturers' Treating Iron
      • Strip, Inspect, Clean, and Rebuild/Reassemble all required flow control components.
        • 2" 1502 Swivel
        • 2" 1502 Plug Valves
        • 2" 1502 All Other SPM Iron
        • 2" 1502 ERV and Understand all variations
        • 3" 1502 Swivels
        • 3" 1502 Plug Valves
        • All Other Treating Iron
      • Perform Ultrasonic Testing and completion of associated paperwork
      • Pressure Test All SPM & Customers Treating Iron and Complete related Pressure Test Reports
      • Assist in MPI Testing
      • Assist Service Technicians
      • Check Equipment IN & OUT
      • Driving Duties as assigned
      • Inventory Incoming Iron
      • Clean/Treat Iron
      • Prepare Parts for MPI
      • Knowledge of SPM Products and Customer Requirements 
      • Responsible for painting components per customer specifications. 
      • Provides proper care and maintenance of all shop tools, equipment, and work area.
      • Assists with customers as needed.
      • Monitors daily work activities to ensure requirements are met.
      • Performs other routine duties.


    Measurements:  Safe, timely and accurate completion of assigned duties.  Provide guidance and assistance to supervisors and employees.  Continual learning.


    Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has limited supervisory responsibilities.

    Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience:                                               

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with five years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Associate’s degree in a technical field preferred.


    Language Skills:                                             

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.


    Mathematical Skills:                                                   

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


    Reasoning Ability:                                                      

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to interpret schematic drawings, procedure changes, and work orders.


    Other Skills and Abilities:                                                      

    Must have mechanical aptitude.

    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including steel toed safety boots with metatarsal protection and safety glasses, in most areas of the facility.
