    Business Need / Purpose of Role

    This position will be based out of Douglas or Casper Wyoming.

    Performs maintenance (shop service) of Mathena equipment in alignment with maintenance and safety standards.

    Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities

    Including but not limited to:

      • Prepare JSA (Job Safety Analysis) on job site and perform all duties in a safe manner and in accordance with Mathena EHS policies
      • Safely install, remove, repair and service Mathena equipment on a drilling rig or well site
      • Perform repair and maintenance duties, replace components, trouble shoot and/or maintain operating efficiencies around a drilling rig or well site environment
      • Maintain Weir Mathena company vehicle, service tools and any other equipment in a clean, ready to use state
      • Prepare accurate field service and rental tickets in a clean and legible way; effectively utilize Blackbook to accomplish this
      • Promote Weir Mathena in field service and sales; maintain a professional appearance and work attitude
      • Pre-check all equipment on location before installation to insure all equipment is correct and all accessories are on location ready to install
      • Be receptive to and able to understand training received on related installation processes and safety procedures
      • Must have the ability to work independently with little to no supervision
      • Must be available on 24 hour call to respond to customer needs
      • Communicate effectively, both verbally and written
      • The ability to run control lines that are hydraulic or electrical if needed
      • Provides proper care and maintenance of all shop tools, equipment, and work area
      • Assists with customers as needed

    Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience:

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


    Language Skills:

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.



    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


    Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


    Physical Demands:

    Must be able to stand for the entire workday.  Must be able to use hands to finger, handle or feel.  Must be able to reach with arms.  Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  Must be able to talk, hear and smell.  Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds independently.


    Work Environment:

    Moderate noise, with intermittent loud noises.  Conditions may be wet or humid, and involve working around moving mechanical parts, work in high, precarious places.  Work environment may intermittently involve fumes, airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.  Some work with electrical equipment is required.
