    Business Need / Purpose of Role

    The Quality Engineer conducts trainings, monitors and advises on the performance of the quality management system, produce data and report on performance, measuring against set standards.

    Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities

    Including but not limited to:

    • Promotes quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization
    • Develops, implements, and communicates a quality plan to maintain the Company’s Quality Systems and Policies
    • Assists in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and systems pertaining to the QA/QC
    • Supports training for compliance with quality system requirements
    • Effectively interacts with Engineering, Production, and Operations to maintain product supply and new product releases
    • Works with purchasing to establish quality requirements from external suppliers.
    • Ensures compliance with national and international standards mainly API Q1, ISO 9001 and API 6A
    • Ensures tests and procedures are properly understood and followed
    • Composes technical and management systems reports
    • Assist with inspections, testing, and product release records for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes and finished goods
    • Identifies department objectives and ensuring that targets are achieved
    • Ensures nonconforming materials are identified and appropriately disposition
    • Assesses product specifications of the company and its suppliers, and comparing with customer requirements
    • Defines quality procedures and instructions
    • Establishes and maintaining controls and documentation procedures
    • Acts as liaison with auditors and ensuring the execution of corrective and preventative action and compliance with customers’ and API specifications.
    • Identifies relevant quality-related training needs and delivering training
    • Follows up with NCR and FCR reports, ensuring the execution
    • Assists with developing customer specific ITP’s
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

    Education/Experience:

    Bachelor's degree with one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    Language:

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

     

    Mathematical Skills:

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

     

    Reasoning Ability:

    Computer Skills:

    Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point, Visio

     

    Certifications, Licenses, Registrations, Special Skills:

    Well-versed in API and/or ISO standards. ISO 9001 Auditor certificate preferred but not required.

     

    Physical Demands:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

     

    Work Environment:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work outside for short periods of time and is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment can be significant, as expected in a heavy industry manufacturing facility. Personal protective equipment is required in certain areas of the facility.  While performing duties this job may be exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures.
