    Business Need / Purpose of Role

    The Inspector performs inspections in a thorough, methodical, and accurate manner to ensure quality of products.

    Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities

    Including but not limited to:

     

    • Working under the direction of the Senior Inspector accurately follows documented procedures in all functions of inspections
    • Interprets drawings and other support technical documents
    • Properly uses inspection and measurement equipment in the inspection of parts
    • Performs inspections in a thorough, methodical, and accurate manner, and taking the appropriate actions based upon the quality systems procedure manual and the acceptance and rejection criteria of the control documents
    • Possess knowledge of dimensioning practices, tolerance and technical team
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

    Education/Experience:

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years machine shop and/or quality related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  One year certificate from college or technical school highly preferred.

     

    Language:

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

     

    Mathematical Skills:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

     

    Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and inclement weather conditions.  High noise level shop environment. Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including steel toed safety shoes and safety glasses, in all areas of the facility.  May work with chemicals and high pressure equipment.
