Reporting to the Director of Comminution Technology Group, the Senior Automation Control Electrical Designer (represents Weir Minerals Division Technology Group) is responsible for designer activities for the research and development, design & augmentation of the electrical, controls & automation systems, Sustainment and New Product Development for all Comminution Products.
To achieve the agreed requirements, strategic and business objectives, in accordance with company policies and procedures. Compliance with all defined Roles, Responsibilities and Accountabilities (RRAs) as documented by the Comminution Technology Group for the assigned position(s)
Including but not limited to:
Complete other tasks assigned by supervisor and / or project lead engineer on time.
Education and/or Experience:
Have full professional competence to manage one or more engineering projects concurrently, with emphasis on in-depth technical contribution. May guide or train lower level engineers. Actively participates in project planning by demonstrating knowledge of project management tools and techniques on cross-functional teams.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations to the CTG, management and customers.
Professional fluency in English communication (listen, read, spoken, written)
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Certificates, License’s and Regulations
Requires a valid driver’s license.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Familiarity with good manufacturing and assembly processes for Comminution & Construction Equipment is required. Must have good commonsense based electrical / automation control aptitude, with documented hands on experience throughout their working career

Must have a passion for the business and the “will” to succeed
Working knowledge of international design standards including US & ISO and the associated drafting standards for electrical schematics, P&IDs, Panel layouts & Installation / assembly drawings.
Working knowledge of electrical installation / subassembly / assembly BOM structures and content.
Experience using the E Plan tools ( Electrical P8 Professional)
Skilled in the use of common change management tools, principles and processes to include but not be limited to ECR/ECN/ECO and preferably Siemen’s GPDM PCN processes.
High level of competency, to include but not be limited to, the use of the following engineering tools:
Machines, Tools, Equipment, and Work Aids
