    Business Need / Purpose of Role

    Under the general direction of the Manager of Application Engineering, respond to customer inquiries and sales orders for Company manufactured vertical turbine pumps, define the product application and performance requirement, and prepare quotations and proposals on price, delivery and performance capability.

    Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities

    Including but not limited to:

    • Ensure customer equipment requirements are met by interpreting specifications and applying Company product line
    • Create price proposal either from established pricing system or cost information
    • Prepare and submit proposal to manufacturer’s representative, end user, regional managers/district managers, or dealer/distributor
    • Interface with Engineering when requirements of proposal require design modifications
    • Perform required duties on projects that are highly technical in nature
    • Defined PD objectives.  Budgeted Input, Output and PBIT objectives
    • Adherence to and achievement of department and company performance objectives
    • Teamwork and cooperation with the company management team and other Weir Group companies
    • On-time completion of targeted policy deployment objectives and reports
    • Mentoring and coaching performance of department associates

    Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience:

    BS in Engineering preferred. Minimum AS degree or equivalent experience in Industrial Technology, Computer Drafting or other engineering related courses.  Previous engineering or IT experience an advantage. Excellent oral and written persuasive communication and presentation skills. Self motivated and proactive learning approach.

     

    Language Skills:

    Read, write, and speak English effectively. Work at a fast pace while prioritizing many important, urgent, and sometimes conflicting assignments

     

    Reasoning Ability:

    Display a positive and constructive, i.e. “problem solver”, attitude. Improve processes and procedures in order to improve team performance. Work in compliance with all applicable codes and standards.
