    Business Need / Purpose of Role

    This position is based in Oklahoma.  The Independent Line Sales Associate develops and supports sales of Independent Wellheads and production equipment (BOP, Stuffing boxes, accessories and other) to supply, pump shop and end users, working in conjunctions with our agents, by performing the following duties.  Other duties assigned.

    Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities

    Including but not limited to:

    • Build customer relations with new & existing distributors and end-users

    • Grow Independent Business Units monthly revenue by obtaining new customers

    • Request quotations for equipment sales

    • Obtain field ticket signatures

    • Attend customer spud meetings

    • Assume responsibility for maintaining the customer relationship while also being the front line customer service contact

    • Maintains a comprehensive list of customer information complete with pertinent contact information

    • Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders and forecast of upcoming business, communicates with customers via phone, email etc.

    • Presents the latest product information with emphasis on technical advantage, industry quality standards, certification, pricing and delivery

    • Follows up on order delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm’s production and delivery schedules

    • Prepares expense reports on a timely basis

    • Works with Independent sales team, engineering, marketing, to keep literature up to date.

    • Identifies market trends which may affect product technical requirements, pricing and delivery

    • Coordinates and delivers customer training, involving other team members as necessary

    • Provides new customer data and other sales data for current customers to Customer Service Department for entry into computer database

    • Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries, including quality issues

    • Attends trade shows

    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications


    Bachelor’s or associate degree preferred but not a must. One to three years’ experience in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.



    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


    Mathematical Skills:

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


    Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


    Physical Demands:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


    Work Environment:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work outside for short periods of time and is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment can be significant, as expected in a heavy industry manufacturing facility. Personal protective equipment is required in certain areas of the facility.  While performing duties this job may be exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures.
