    Business Need / Purpose of Role

    The CDL Driver is responsible for operating company owned truck-trailer combination.  The CDL Driver must apply knowledge of commercial driving regulations, to transport and deliver oilfield equipment in a safe and timely manner.

    Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities

    Including, but not limited to:

    • At Weir Oil & Gas, our primary objective is to provide our customers with excellent engineering solutions through our products and superior customer service
    • Effectively demonstrate the core values of Weir Oil and Gas at all times
    • Follow all written policies and procedures safely without deviation or refer to upper management for guidance
    • Exhibit and advocate exemplary safety culture at all times
    • Demonstrate consistency, accountability, reliability and solid work ethic
    • Exhibit a high degree of integrity at all times
    • Complies with all Hours of Service Regulations, as well as all state, local and federal guidelines
    • Operate Electronic Logging Devices per requirements
    • Inspect truck and trailer combination before and after trips and submit report indicating truck/trailer condition 
    • Fasten load on trailer to ensure safe transit
    • Assist in loading and unloading truck 
    • Service truck with oil, fuel and radiator fluid to maintain truck-trailer 
    • Complete JSA’s/POWRAs
    • Journey Management Compliance
    • Ensure completion of all associated paperwork in an organized and legible manner
    • Knowledge of Weir products and customer requirements
    • Provides proper care and maintenance of all tools, trucks and trailers
    • Service truck with oil, fuel, and radiator fluid to maintain truck-trailer
    • Must be willing to travel with occasional overnight stays
    • Performs other routine duties as assigned 

    Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     Education and/or Experience:

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with a minimum of two years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


    Language Skills:

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.



    Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.


    Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations


    Computer Skills:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of inventory, spreadsheet, and word processing software


    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

    Must possess a valid and current CDL license and a clean driving record. Must be able to obtain Medical Examiners Certificate.


    Physical Demands:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision and be able to pass a DOT Medical Examination.

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including steel toed safety shoes, safety glasses, and fire-retardant clothing on all locations.
